“Isolation Kills” Uk Covid 19 Inquiry commission
Commissioned by and for the Covid-19 Inquiry, curated by Ekow Eshun. For the project, I worked as a community-based artist with members from Care Campaign for the Vulnerable on an important project with The UK Covid-19 Inquiry. Following conversations about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, I produced a work to help give voice to their stories. The painting was later turned into a tapestry and is one of the first four UK Covid Inquiry commemorative tapestries that has been unveiled at the Inquiry's hearing centre in Dorland House. "Eyes Forced Shut" explores the disempowerment and loss of freedoms experienced by patients and their relatives in care homes and follows conversations between the artist and members of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable
